Today is Shrove Tuesday or better known as Pancake Day, the last day before Lent.
In the days before chocolates, people make pancakes to use up rich foods such as milk, sugar and eggs before the fasting season of Lent. People usually give up meat, dairy or eggs.
I've decided to give up crisps for Lent and of course continue our usual "no meat on Fridays."
And to celebrate, I woke up early and prepared pancakes for the family. I had pancakes with cream and raspberries dusted with cocoa powder.
Poj had pancakes with banana and nutella.
And Papa E wanted plain pancakes with butter. Boring but still yummy according to him =)
What would you give up for Lent?
Happy Pancake Day everyone!

Hello, thanks for visiting my blog :-)
ReplyDeleteit's Ash Wednesday dito sis and because of that ilang araw na din akong diet sa oatmeal with apple tidbits. Masarap naman and I kinda like it. Pero bigla akong nagka-idea ng pwedeng kainin on lent. Kaya siguro may bibingka dito sis pag lent.
ReplyDeletewow sarap Krizzy my kids and I lovepancakes..and thank you for sharing..we don't eat meat on Lent but it is easy because my kids and I are used to eating fish and sea foods sis..magandang umaga Krizzy ;)

ReplyDeleteI love pancakes.. I like what you prepared for poj sis. Banana with nutella pancake.
ReplyDeleteI love nutella too! ^_^
ReplyDeletenakakagutom naman itong post mo. =)
ReplyDeletesaraaaap! I wish I can get LSP eat pancakes this way too! I need a good, tried and tested pancake recipe ;-) (hint, hint) LOL
ReplyDeleteSpanish Pinay
I'm such a carnivore pero I'd give it up for lent. Prutas prutas lang muna ko.
ReplyDeleteMay bibingka kapag lent? Sarap naman. =)
ReplyDeleteI love seafood too. =)
ReplyDeleteI know! I first had this (crepe) with nutella sa Paris, loved it since =)
ReplyDeleteHmmm, sarap din ng pancakes with strawberries =)
ReplyDeleteYou should try it at home I'm sure Xian would love it too =)
ReplyDeleteHaha!
ReplyDeleteI posted the recipe for you sis sa 365 blog ko.
