Valentine's Dinner

Every year Marks and Spencer have these Dine in For Two where they sell ready to cook set meals which includes a starter, a main, dessert and drinks. You are spoilt for choice as they have meat, fish, poultry and vegetarian.
These meals are extremely popular. They do it for a very reasonable price which means you can enjoy a wonderful meal in the comfort of your own home.

As much as we would love to go out for a meal at a restaurant, we  know we can't because we don't have anyone here that could look after Poj. Plus knowing that Valentine's day is very much celebrated here, you will have to make sure that you book well in advance to guarantee a table!

So we were organised this year & went to M&S in the weekend and picked our menu.

For our starter we had:
It was just divine. Papa E loves seafood and the the scallop with the white wine was just lovely. It made us really excited for the rest of the meal.

For our main we had:

I love my steak rare or medium coz I want them to be soft and tasty whilst Papa E likes them well done. We were so excited about our meal when it was cooked that we forgot to prepare some veggies to go with it!

And for dessert we had:

It was not too sweet but was very rich. And as much as I love my dessert, I could not finish the lovely treat.
And apart from the wine (I picked Zinfandel Rosé which is my favourite. It may not be the best choice with the steak but hey ho, I went with my fave!) there was also a box of chocolate...

A romantic hassle-free candlelit dinner cooked by my Valentine. And just when I thought it could not get any better than this, he gave me this and told me that when we go to Disneyland in April, we'll spend some time in the city of Paris as well.

Thanks Papa E  ♡♡♡

  1. like you, never na kami nagdate nung may ethan na kami, wala din kasi kami mapag-iwanan. pero we get used to it na, package na kami 3 sa lahat ng lakad and even in some occasion na hindi invited kids, exempted kami dun kung gusto talaga ni kami pumunta, pati si ethan kasama sa reserved seats. =)

Buti na nga lang established na bedtime routine nya kaya we get to have our catch up on most nights.
Oo nga eh, super romantic and happy kaming pareho. I'm so glad we thought of it. Valentine's is not everyday so it won't hurt to make a bit of effort paminsan minsan =)
Haha, it was so tender it nearly melted in the mouth, yummy! =)

  3. naku sana nag crash ako sa Vday date ninyo. hehe.. I love stake, pero parehas kami ni Papa E. I want mine well done too. The dessert looks divine pati yung chocolates.. nagutom ako sis. hehe.. I think masaya din naman ang Vday date na sa bahay lang kasi mas tahimik at may privacy ang importante you are with the love of your life. Tapos ganyan pa kasarap ang food, what more acan you ask for.

Advance happy bday kay Papa E. Wow, Disneyland and Paris tour.. Ikaw na! ikaw na talaga ang lucky girl this year. I can't wait sa mga Paris and Disneyland pictures. Sensya ka na malamang tutulo laway ko pag binasa ko ang post mo about dun.. haha.. love you sis..

  12. The rib eye and scallop looks delicious. Nagutom ako bigla parang gusto ko ng meat.  It's a good strategy that M&S did that time saving meal for couples who couldn't dine out. Happy valentines sis. Ikaw na talaga.

Haha, ok yun kung may nagvaviolin dito (pero on second thought, magigising si Poj, haha!). The dessert was truly something - way better than the box of chocolates =)

It was an excellent idea & we should have tried it last year. Meron din pala silang mga dine in for two kahit walang okasyon cheaper sya pero starter-main-dessert lang, ok na rin. Di ko lang alam kung gaano kadalas. =)
